The IEEE-EXT5 active repeater cable allows users to extend past the 5m limit of Firewire without using powered hubs, the cable can be cascaded up to 10 times, allowing a possible extension of up 50m using 10 separate cables.

It is compatible with the High Performance Data Rates of the IEEE 1394A specification, support 100 / 200 / 400 Mbps.
